Darc Award Winner 2018, Jestico + Whiles Installation

Aperture is a serene and immersive visual specialist lighting experience created for the ninth annual Clerkenwell Design Week in collaboration with Jestico + Whiles.

The form of the sculpture takes inspiration from the George Eastman Kodak factory, which was located in Clerkenwell at the end of the 19th century. The fins are produced from 64 Porcelanosa Krion, and have slowly decreasing apertures.

Dynamic, coloured light travels along the underside of the form, illuminating the soft internal curves. This creates a mesmerising shift in perspective and the lighting installation sculpture takes on an organic life.

This lighting installation also won the 2018 Darc Award for Art at the 6th December ceremony.
