The Omantel Headquarters is the new home for Oman’s first integrated telecommunications services provider, proudly exhibiting contemporary lighting and paying homage to Oman’s heritage through Visual Energy’s exterior lighting design.
Expressive and bold this new symbol for Muscat sits boldly within the landscape. The illuminated form is inspired by the majestic flowing profile of Oman’s traditional headdress, Al Massar. Our architectural lighting designers devised an exterior lighting design that allowed us to light a heavily glazed building effectively and provided a dynamic façade by arranging the LED profiles on an articulated mesh grid. Further façade expression is possible through the colour controlled architectural office lighting, which proudly celebrates national holidays. As well as lighting the exterior, Visual Energy provided the concept, design & lighting system for the open plan commercial interior. The facade becomes layered and appears as a transparent object.
