12|14 Stradom House - Autograph Collection Krakow

A 14th century monastery in the heart of the historical districts of the city of Krakow, situated between the Jewish quarter and Stare Miasto (old town), the facade of this great building sits proudly at the centre of the street leading to the iconic Wawel Royal Castle.

Visual Energy has collaborated with Angel Poland and ADC Atelier on the dramatic transformation of the historical Stradom House into a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel and high-end residential apartments. The Hotel interior is inspired by traditional and contemporary Polish art, patterns and design, whilst the façade brought in local artisans to create the unique façade wall lights, in keeping and appropriate to the historic local area.

In the heart of the building, you can find Hedwig’s Club which has transformed the restored church interior into a members club style Bar, featuring restored domed ceilings suspending a unique feature pendant over the central bar. Joined to this amazing space is a wine cellar situated in the original brick arches.

Each area of the hotel, from the bars and restaurants to the guestrooms, to the spa, has a unique structure and layout as the hotel spans many buildings across the site that have been added and changed throughout its history. Each area provided its own unique set of challenges in preserving the historic elements whilst executing a design that connects all spaces with a singular identity of the hotel.
